Axel Sikora, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dipl.-Ing. Dipl. Wirt.-Ing., is a professor at Offenburg University in Germany, where he serves as scientific director of the Institute of Reliable Embedded Systems and Communication Electronics (ivESK). Also, he is deputy member of the board and head of the business unit Software Solutions of Hahn-Schickard Association of Applied Research, one of the leading state-funded research institutes in Southwest Germany.
Prof. Sikora has around 20 years of experience in national and international R&D projects. He is author and co-author, editor and co-editor of several textbooks and of more than 180 scientific journal and conference papers. Also, he is member of the steering board of the Embedded World Conference, the largest European conference on this topic, scientific advisor to the annual Wireless Congress and "Internet of Things"-Conference, and organizer and program committee member of multiple other conferences.
His major interest is in the system development of efficient, energy-aware, autonomous, secure, and value-added algorithms and protocols for wired and wireless embedded communication.
