Reiner Johannes Schütt received his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Hanover/Germany in 1987 where he received his Doctor’s degree for his works on Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistors in frequency converters in 1992. Then he worked for several years as the Head of Development and Technical Manager of Enercon Nord Electronic GmbH in Aurich/Germany. Since October 1999, he teaches and conducts research at the West Coast University at Heide/Germany in the areas of control systems, electric drives and wind energy technology as a full professor. He is the spokesperson for the working group on Electrical Engineering in CEwind - the wind energy competence center in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany.

 

He published more than 100 papers in the field of control, electrical machines, wind energy systems and smart grids. Prof. Schütt is a coauthor of “Understanding Wind Power Technology: Theory, Deployment and Optimization”, published by John Wiley and Sons.
